The Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church has a labyrinth at the lower level of the church property. The labyrinth is accessed off the church's parking lot along Barton Creek Blvd, where a sign board for the labyrinth starts the trail leading to it.

The Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church functions on many levels, literally. The church property is on very hilly territory so the buildings are cut into the hillside to have level ground to build building on and park cars in flat parking lots. There appears to be at least three levels where various buildings, playgrounds, and gardens are found when looking down the hillside from the top. The labyrinth is all the way down at the bottom layer.

To get to the area where the labyrinth is from Bee Cave Road, turn off from Bee Cave Road onto Barton Creek Blvd and drive a short ways down the hill, passing the junction with Furlong Drive, until you see a turn-in to a small parking lot. This is the church's parking area where the trail to the labyrinth is found on the Southeastern corner of this parking lot. There is a blue sign on a post that says:

WHPC Madrone Trail
Meditation & Picnic Area
LABYRINTH

Park nearby and walk the trail. The labyrinth is basically straight ahead and will become visible once you enter the wooded area. The cedar trees surround the labyrinth provide nice shade but are not part of the 5-circuit labyrinth's pathway. The nicely designed labyrinth is about 42 feet in diameter and has a comfortable pathway of crushed gravel edged with bricks buried edgewise. At the center of the labyrinth's path is a large round stone knob. It offers a place to sit while doing your meditations while at the center.

A labyrinth is a single pathway into its center and the same path is used to exit the labyrinth. The concept for walking a labyrinth is to allow yourself to meditate and release your tensions and worries on the way in. At the center, you can release those frustrations and leave them there in the center. Return on the same path back with a more relaxed attitude of hope and contentment.
