Parish Church of Santa María la Mayor, 16th century. The work on the church of Padul was directed by Juan Ajofrín and his son in 1541, although in 1543-5 Jerónimo García was asked to build a tower like the one in Alhendín; its covers correspond to the stonecutter Gaspar de Muriel (1599); The mason Luis Morales also worked on the construction of this church. It currently presents a highly renovated factory with three naves separated by arches on stone pillars, the sides being covered with ribbed vaults. The main nave, which would respond to the first design, is covered with an armor of baffle files that loses the skirt of the apse to come into contact with an arch that separates the main chapel. It has eight paired shoulder straps combed with a loop of eight, the same as the quadrals, distressed, both, on acanthus canes. The musk maintains a loop of eight in the ends and center. The main chapel exhibits an important square armor of simple files with double squares combed with a loop of eight on acanthus barrels.
