Suzanne Pleshette was born in 1937 in Brooklyn, New York. Her father was a stage manager at a Broadway theater and her mother was a dancer, so it should come as no surprise that Pleshette pursued a show business career. By the time she was 21, Suzanne Pleshette had appeared on Broadway, television and the silver screen.

Though appearing in films such as ‘The Geisha Boy,’ ‘Rome Adventure’ and Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘The Birds,’ Suzanne Pleshette is mostly known for her work in television. During the 1960s and 70s, she appeared in episodes of ‘Have Gun - Will Travel,’ ‘Wagon Train,’ ‘The Fugitive,’ ‘Columbo’ and many, many others. But her biggest claim to fame was her role as Emily Hartley in the long running series, ‘The Bob Newhart Show,’ which ran from 1972 to 1978.

Suzanne Pleshette died of respiratory failure in January 2008. She is laid to rest in Hillside Memorial Park in Culver City, CA near the gravesite of her third husband, fellow actor Tom Poston.
