"One person is in critical condition at a Bay Area hospital following a massive brawl that broke out at a wedding reception in Fremont, according to police.

Fremont police have made one arrest and continue to investigate. Detective Michael Gebhardt said the fight involved about 70 people. It happened outside the Royal Palace banquet hall where roughly 700 guests had been attending the reception.

Raja Singh, owner of Raja Singh Photography in Fremont, was hired as the wedding photographer.

“There was a little argument inside the hall at the dance floor,” he said. “I just saw everybody rushing outside.”

Singh said he did not photograph the fight, but he did see it break out.

“I can’t tell who was fighting who,” he said. “There was a bunch of people hitting each other. I don’t know anybody personally.”

Singh estimates the fight lasted about 20 minutes before people heard police sirens and scattered.

The bride spoke to KTVU by phone and said she is upset with the venue for providing two security guards even though they were charged for seven guards. She said the instigators were outsiders who kicked out of the reception and when things got out of hand, she said security did nothing.

“I saw a couple of security guards,” Singh said. “They did not look like security guards. It wasn’t a good security company.”

Singh said he just feels bad for the bridge and groom.

“I’ve been doing this for the last 15 years and I’ve never seen something like that,” he added. “That was chaos.”

Det. Gebhardt said they continue to interview witnesses for their investigation. The department is expected to release more details on Thursday. He said a man named Amritpal Singh of Missouri was arrested on charges of battery." (visit link)
