María fue deportada a Ravensbruck, el campo de las mujeres, el 28 de agosto de 1944. En mayo de 1945 se encontró en Toulouse con su hijo que también había sobrevivido tras haber sido deportado al campo de Buchenwald.
Habían quedado en que si sobrevivían se encontrarían allí en casa de un amigo. Meses más tarde María y Gaspar se enteraron de la llegada de un tren de refugiados y fueron a la estación. Allí encontraron a César, sentado, fumando un cigarrillo. César había estado en Mauthausen – Ebensee.
Sus stolperteine fueron puestas el 28 de mayo de 2021, en la calle Bravo Murillo, 193. La de Gaspar en medio, arropado por sus padres.”
