[FR] Pourquoi vous devez absolument visiter le Gouffre de Padirac ?
Le Gouffre de Padirac est une cavité naturelle monumentale située à 11km à vol d’oiseau (17km en voiture) de Rocamadour. C’est, parmi les grottes et les gouffres le plus emblématique et le 1er site souterrain de France. L’orifice fait 35 mètres de diamètre et le gouffre plonge à 75 mètres de la surface du causse. Au fond, à 103 mètres sous terre, coule la rivière de Padirac qui s’écoule dans un réseau de galeries de plus de 40km !
Un peu plus d’1 km de galeries est ouvert au public. Le parcours commence sur une barque manœuvrée par un batelier. La visite permet de découvrir successivement la Grande Pendeloque, stalactite de plus de 60 mètres de long, suspendue au-dessus du Lac de la Pluie, le Lac des Gours (succession de barrages naturels) et la Salle du Grand Dôme, 94 mètres sous plafond !!!

The Gouffre de Padirac is a monumental natural cave located 11km as the crow flies (17km by car) from Rocamadour. It is, among the caves and chasms, the most emblematic and the first underground site in France. The opening is 35 meters in diameter and the chasm plunges 75 meters from the surface of the causse. At the bottom, 103 meters below ground, flows the river of Padirac which flows in a network of galleries of more than 40km!
A little more than 1 km of galleries is open to the public. The tour begins on a boat operated by a boatman. The visit allows to discover successively the Great Pendeloque, stalactite of more than 60 meters long, suspended above the Lake of the Rain, the Lake of the Gours (succession of natural dams) and the Room of the Big Dome, 94 meters under ceiling!
