Over the past few years, the City of Surrey has been transitioning from a low-rise suburban design to having areas with highrise residential living. Since its completion in 2018, 3 Civic Plaza has been the highest building in Surrey. It is a mixed-use building with 348 residential condominiums, a 144-room hotel, a 5-floor post-secondary campus, retail, and restaurants.
3 Civic Plaza is located on the east side of Civic Plaza with the Surrey City Hall on the north side and the Surrey Public Library on the west side. To the immediate south of 3 Civic Plaza is Surrey Central Station, the busiest SkyTrain station in Surrey. From here the SkyTrain gets people to Downtown Vancouver in under 40 minutes.
