Elle était anciennement plus bas au bord de l'Indre mais suite à la dissolution de l'école Saint Vincent et sa fusion avec l'école Saint Martin et sa nouvelle cantine au bord de l'Indre. Cette mairie est a demi-teinte entre moderne avec son entrée type "véranda" et son bâtiment ancien avec son histoire d'école encore visible sur la pierre au dessus de la mairie.

La ville : Ardentes est une petite ville française située dans le département de l'Indre et la région du Centre-Val de Loire. Ses habitants sont appelés les Ardentais et les Ardentaises.
La commune s'étend sur 62,1 km² et compte 3 945 habitants depuis le dernier recensement de la population datant de 2007. Avec une densité de 63,5 habitants par km², Ardentes a connu une nette hausse de 18,8% de sa population par rapport à 1999.
Entourée par les communes de Étrechet, Sassierges-Saint-Germain et Jeu-les-Bois, Ardentes est située à 13 km au sud-est de Châteauroux la plus grande ville aux alentours.
Située à 160 mètres d'altitude, la Rivière l'Indre est le principal cours d'eau qui traverse la commune d'Ardentes.

It used to be lower down on the Indre river, but following the dissolution of the Saint-Vincent school and its merger with the Saint-Martin school and its new canteen on the Indre river. This town hall is halfway between modern with its "veranda" type entrance and its old building with its school history still visible on the stone above the town hall.
