Our trip out to out from Fairbanks to take the tour at the Running Reindeer Ranch was one of the most unique local tourism activities we have ever enjoyed.
We learned so much about these amazing creatures, including that the difference between reindeer and caribou is - caribou are wild and reindeer are kept as livestock! That's the only difference!
The #2 top tour in Fairbanks according to TripAdvisor, our afternoon at Running Reindeer Ranch was well worth every minute and every cent we spent.
Running Reindeer Ranch is located about 40 minutes outside of Fairbanks AK at 1470 Ivan's Alley.
Wear hiking-appropriate footwear -- the ranch is hilly.

Hours vary by season. From October-February, tours are by appointment only, Fridays through Tuesdays. During the summer, tours are available daily.
