De windwijzer heeft een dier bovenop de wijzer. Welk dier dit is is niet helemaal duidelijk. Het lijkt in mijn beleving het meest op een geit.
"De buffelboerderij in Zevenaar is volgens de eigenaren Gert-Jan en Anita Arns na acht jaar eindelijk levensvatbaar te noemen. "We worden weer serieus genomen." De melk die de buffels produceren is zeer geschikt om mozzarella van te maken.
Helaas is de natte bol kaas nog geen gewoonte in de Nederlandse keuken. Toch kan de familie Arns het grootste deel van de buffelmelk kwijt bij het bedrijf Tozzi, dat onder meer mozzarella voor supermarkten als Albert Heijn produceert.
Volgens de eigenaren blijft buffelmelk een lastig product. Mede door samenwerking met andere buffelboeren ziet de toekomst er toch goed uit.
Naast de buffelmelk verkopen de eigenaren van de boerderij ook buffelvlees van de huisslacht. Vooral de buffelburgers zijn volgens de eigenaresse niet aan te slepen.
In 2003 begon het stel met zestig waterbuffels, inmiddels is dit aantal uitgegroeid tot tweehonderd."

In addition to the buffalo milk, the farm owners also sell buffalo meat from the house slaughter. According to the owner, the buffalo burgers, in particular, are unattainable.
In 2003, the couple started with sixty water buffalo, now this number has grown to two hundred."
