The Western Railroad: Chester Factory Village Depot was built in 1862 the Italianate style. The depot is located on the east side of the active CSX (formerly Western Railroad) tracks. It was moved from the west side of the tracks to in 1990 to prevent its demolition and to be restored.
The one-story high wood post-and-beam depot is 90' long by 25' wide. It has a gable roof covered with slate shingles. Decorative wood brackets support the eaves of the roof. A chimney is located on the south end of the depot. The depot is 13 bays wide with doors on the 1st, 5th, 9th, and 12th bays and windows on the remaining bays. The gable ends have a single window on the attic level and two windows on the lower level.
"The Chester Factory Depot is a contributing element of the Chester Factory Village Historic District." (
