The first Episcopal Service in Collinsville occurred in a private building on January 29, 1854. The Trinity Episcopal Society was formed in 1870. Construction of the Trinity Episcopal Church began in 1876.
The Carpenter Gothic Revival structure was designed by architect Robert W. Hill. The a set of steps at the base of a bell tower leads to the main entrance to the church. Above the entrance is a truncated pyramid with triangular windows supporting a belfry. The belfry has triangular openings and is topped with a spire and a weather vane.
The west side has three Gothic windows above three basement windows. The west end of the church has a one bay wide addition with steps leading up to an auxiliary entrance. The back of the addition has a projecting alcove.
The north side gable end has two Gothic stained glass windows and a circular window. An entrance in a breezeway east of the main block is framed by a Gothic arch. The entrance services the church and the long auxiliary building that extends to the east.
