John Miller (1879-1951)
at its peak just prior
to world war I
Millerfield was home to
some 40 families and
boasted a school and a
post office.

John Miller was born in
Dunnville, Ontario, and after
serving in the Boer war he
moved west with his wife
Florence Rachel Weir (1873-1927)
of Hamilton, Ontario.

This plaque was erected
through the efforts of their
daughter Margery (1918-1989)
Wife of the honourable Llyod Francis,
Thirtieth Speaker of the
House of Commons of Canada.
