"Description:
Gable-roofed massive plastered building, detached on three sides, with one story above high plinth. Plinth formerly open arbor. Entrance in the center, in front of it a two-flight staircase. Stepped gable. Octagonal ridge turret with tail cap.
Built 1555-1558, rebuilt 1662-1663 (gable), flight of steps 1772.

Monument justification:
The Old Town Hall has a historical significance for the history of the village and due to its testimonial and visual value for the architectural history and as an exemplary town hall of the Renaissance, one of the few in the west of Lower Saxony. In addition, it has an urban planning significance for the market place and for the townscape. For these reasons, its preservation is in the public interest."
