EN: This old fountain stands at the junction Grutweg/Geispelgasse on the southern edge of Muttenz.
It has a rounded rectangular trough of about two by three meters. Behind it is a fountain column of antique design with a sphere on top.
The fountain is not dated and is in excellent condition. However, it must be quite old, as I only see these metal ledges for placing kettles on really old fountains.
DE: Dieser alte Brunnen steht an der Abzeigung Grutweg/Geispelgasse am südlichen Rand von Muttenz.
Er hat einen abgerundeten rechtechigen Trog von etwa zwei auf drei Metern. Dahinter steht eine Brunnensäule in antikisierendem Design mit einer Kugel auf der Spitze.
Der Brunnen ist nicht datiert und in einem ausgezeichneten Zustand. Er dürfte aber schon ziemlich alt sein, da ich diese Metallleisten zum Abstellen von Wasserkesseln nur bei wirklich alten Brunnen sehe.
