A l'entrée de la galerie du moulin à papier "Vallis Clausa" se trouvent 2 blasons. Celui de gauche (en bleu) est celui de la ville, quand à celui de droite (en rouge) est le blason papale.

Le blason de la ville :
Il représente 2 poissons, une truite et un ombre, poissons que l'on retrouve dans la Sorgue, la rivière qui traverse le village. Et le fond bleu représente bien sûr l'eau de la Sorgue.

Le blason papale :
Les clés représentent le Christ, élevant saint Pierre au rang de premier apôtre. Il lui dit : "Tu es Pierre et sur cette pierre je bâtirai mon église. Je te donnerai les clés du royaume des cieux et tout ce que tu lieras sur terre sera lié dans les cieux". (Evangiles selon Matthieu : 16, 18-20).
Depuis le Ve siècle les clés sont les attributs de saint Pierre. Sous le pontificat d'Innocent III (1198-1216),les clés sont détachées de l'effigie de saint Pierre pour être mises en relation avec l'institution pontificale, dont elles deviennent l'emblème. De 1274 à 1791, le Comtat Venaissin, dont fait parti Fontaine de Vaucluse, est une possession du Saint Siège, d'où la présence de ces armoiries dans la ville.

The coat of arms of the city:
It represents 2 fish, a trout and a grayling, fish found in the Sorgue, the river that crosses the village. And the blue background of course represents the water of the Sorgue.

The papal coat of arms:
The keys represent Christ, elevating Saint Peter to the rank of first apostle. He said to him: "You are Peter and on this rock I will build my church. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven and everything you bind on earth will be bound in heaven". (Gospels according to Matthew: 16, 18-20).
Since the 5th century the keys have been the attributes of Saint Peter. Under the pontificate of Innocent III (1198-1216), the keys were detached from the effigy of Saint Peter to be linked to the pontifical institution, of which they became the emblem. From 1274 to 1791, the Comtat Venaissin, of which Fontaine de Vaucluse is a part, was a possession of the Holy See, hence the presence of these coats of arms in the city.
