Former town hall. Important as a closure on the corner of Grotestraat. Rectangular building with hipped roof, topped by a small dome (1690). Main facade and side facade with pilasters. In a 19th century plastering, cordon frames have been added, in which the old natural stone window sills are included.

"This Old Town Hall originally dates from 1489, but was completely rebuilt in 1691. In 1971 it was restored from a major subsidence and in 1973 was given a catering destination.

The building has had many functions over time. It has served as a town hall, prison, court, district court, police station, telegraph office and beer brewery. It is popularly spoken of as a traffic house because it contained a predecessor of the tourist office.

Other names for this building are: 't Oude Raedthuys, the old City Hall, 't Wetshuys and the old police station. The top floor is one of the three official wedding locations in Almelo."

Ancienne mairie. Important comme fermeture au coin de Grotestraat. Bâtiment rectangulaire à toit en croupe, surmonté d'un petit dôme (1690). Façade principale et façade latérale avec pilastres. Dans un enduit du XIXe siècle, des cadres cordon ont été ajoutés, dans lesquels les anciens appuis de fenêtre en pierre naturelle sont inclus.

"Cet ancien hôtel de ville date à l'origine de 1489, mais a été entièrement reconstruit en 1691. En 1971, il a été restauré à partir d'un affaissement majeur et en 1973, il a reçu une destination de restauration.

Le bâtiment a eu de nombreuses fonctions au fil du temps. Il a servi de mairie, de prison, de tribunal, de tribunal de district, de poste de police, de bureau de télégraphe et de brasserie de bière. Il est communément appelé une maison de la circulation car il contenait un prédécesseur de l'office de tourisme.

Les autres noms de ce bâtiment sont : 't Oude Raedthuys, l'ancien hôtel de ville, 't Wetshuys et l'ancien poste de police. Le dernier étage est l'un des trois lieux de mariage officiels à Almelo."

Voormalig raadhuis. Belangrijk als afsluiting op de hoek van de Grotestraat. Rechthoekig pand met schilddak, bekroond door dakkoepeltje (1690). Hoofdgevel en zijgevel voorzien van pilasters. Bij een 19e eeuwse bepleistering, zijn cordonlijsten toegevoegd, waarin de oude natuurstenen raamdorpels zijn opgenomen.

" Dit Oude Raadhuis stamt oorspronkelijk uit 1489, maar werd in 1691 geheel herbouwd. In 1971 werd het gerestaureerd van een flinke verzakking en kreeg in 1973 een horeaca bestemming.

Het gebouw heeft in de loop der tijd veel functies gehad. Zo heeft het o.a. dienst gedaan als stadhuis, gevangenis, rechtbank, kantongerecht, politiebureau, telegraafkantoor en bierbrouwerij. In de volksmond wordt gesproken over verkeershuis omdat er een voorloper van het VVV in heeft gezeten.

Andere namen voor dit pand zijn: 't Oude Raedthuys, het oude Stadhuis, ’t Wetshuys en het oude politiebureau. De bovenverdieping is een van de drie officiële trouwlocaties in Almelo."
