EN: This fountain is located in the village center of Brunnen next to the Federal Chapel.
It has a simple rectangular concrete trough and a wide, low fountain head.
On it is the bust of a Schwyz mountain farmer.
Above the faucet this description is engraved:
"Josef Bisa
1908-1976
Schwyz mountain farmer"
I didn't understand it correctly at first and thought Josef Bisa was a mountain farmer who became famous for some reason, but Josef Bisa was the sculptor who created the bust of an anonymous mountain farmer.
DE: Dieser Brunnen befindet sich im Dorfzentrunm von Brunnen neben der Bundeskapelle.
Er hat einen einfachen rechteckigen Betontrog und einen breiten, niedrigen Brunnenstock.
Darauf befindet sich die Büste eines Schwyzer Bergbauern.
Über dem Wasserhahn ist die Beschreibung eingraviert:
"Josef Bisa
1908-1976
Schwyzer Bergbauer"
Ich habe das zuerst nicht richtig verstanden und gedacht Josef Bisa war ein Bergbauer, der aus irgend einem Grund bekannt wurde, aber Josef Bisa war der Bildhauer, der die Büste eines anonymen Bergbauern geschaffen hat.
