Named for William G. McAdoo, Secretary of the Treasury, was established one mile west of its present location in 1915. It moved to its present location in 1917 and became a thriving farm community. Baptist, Church of Christ, and Methodist churches flourished.
The first school was in a home. In 1910 Prairie View was built one mile south and later Crazy Flat was built farther south. In 1914 these schools were combined and moved to this location. A brick building housed the school from 1928 until it closed in 1985.
