Correctionville is on the western border of Iowa. It was first laid out in 1855 and is at the spot where early surveyors made a correction in the platting of the area to account for changes in the earth's circumference. It is a small farming town providing services to the surrounding community. Population in 2020 was 766. Many of the buildings date to the end of the 19th century. At the moment the town appears to have more antique stores than any other type of retail.
