This mosaic art work is a lady sitting on the left side of a cement bench on a boarding platform at the Wilson train depot in Wilson, North Carolina. Locally, she is known as 'The Mosaic Lady' and was named 'Miss Rail Rose' in a Wilson County School contest for children. The Mosaic Lady is poised with her hands folded on her lap. Her feet are crossed one behind the other under the bench. She is wearing a mosaic dress of varying light blue colors with yellow trim at the neckline. She is wearing a jacket over the dress of yellow mosaic tiles with dark yellow and brown trim down the front of the jacket and at the cuffs. Her hat has a blue mosaic 'ribbon' as a band around it. Her hair is short and she has a stoic expression on her face as she gazes straight ahead. To her right side rests a cement purse on the bench. At the base of the bench on the right is a cement suitcase with scattered 'destination' mosaic tiles some of which are broken. To her right and behind the bench is a mosaic sign that reads: WILSON, NC in dark blue tiles with a yellow mosaic background and light blue tiles as a border. Some of the tiles on the border are now missing. On the yellow background are six blue mosaic stars.
