“Maricopa Wild Horses,” an arts initiative, was unveiled at City Hall in 2021. Ten sculptures of horses decorated by local artists were presented to the public. The city wants the art submissions to honor its roots and look to the future.

Our team is trained and prepared to provide information on prescription drugs, marijuana, and alcohol and vape prevention. We utilize Too Good For Drugs, from the Mendez Foundation grades 3-8. Despite the comforts the small but growing city may offer parents, Maricopa youth face challenges any inner-city child may encounter.
There are local agencies working together to actively combat substance abuse issues affecting the young people in Maricopa. Formed nearly two years ago, Be Awesome Youth Coalition is a group of community members and organizations, including the Maricopa Police Department and local schools, that want to reduce substance abuse among the youth.
