This is actually a fairly sturdy headstone that appears to have lost its base, so the cemetery caretakers apparently put it on its back and slightly buried it to facilitate maintenance. Findagrave has a photo of it, showing the book and some additional detail on its top, but the front face is still quite legible. The Woodmen of the World emblem is superimposed upon the Gate to Heaven, which is flanked by vases with flowers, and the inscription reads:
