Charlton Heston is best known for his roles as Moses in “The Ten Commandments” and Judah Ben-Hur in the classic epic. He also starred in the sci-fi classics “Planet of the Apes” and “Soylent Green” as well as nearly a hundred other motion pictures in a career that spanned over sixty years.

As with many stars of the silver screen and television, Heston got his start acting on stage. But unlike many of his contemporaries, Heston continued his stage performances throughout his long career including his last performance opposite his wife Lydia in “Love Letters” during the summer of 1999 at London’s Haymarket Theatre.

Over 250 people attended Heston’s funeral in 2008 including then Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger, former First Lady Nancy Reagan, film directors Oliver Stone and Rob Reiner and actors Keith Carradine, Pat Boone, Tom Selleck and Olivia de Havilland.
