This date stone can be found on St Catharine's, an Episcopal church just west of the town centre of Blairgowrie in eastern Perthshire. The church was built by the incumbent Rev. John Marshall from 1842-43 to a design from his 14 year old stepson, John Henderson. It is built from local red sandstone with a slated roof.

The church occupies the corner of George Street and Brown Street, with only the west and south sides visible from the street. The date stone can be seen on the western wall from George Street.
