East Hickory Hill School was originally located west of Bluford, Illinois, It was built in 1919. It was moved intact to the Jefferson County Historical Village in Mt Vernon. The village has several buildings and displays. There is no fee to visit the village, although donations are accepted.
One interesting note: There is an original outhouse located near the rear of the school. There is also an school bell located here.
