The Carbosan workshop school continues the practical classes of its stonework and masonry students working on the rehabilitation of the A Lavandeira paper factory. The project they are developing consists of the construction of a building to house the reception, administration and bathrooms of the future museum, but also the rehabilitation of the exterior, where the gear that will transform the tissues into paper pulp will be located. This last work is allowing to recover some original stone pieces that were hidden underground and that are part of this cog in the industrial process of making paper in the 19th century. Although the five wheels and maces that go in the arches of the water channel will be commissioned to a specialized carpentry,
Regarding the construction of the new building and the reception of the future museum, the workshop makes the different pipes and connections with the supply and sanitation network, which go to the other side of the bridge through the Arenteiro path. According to the Council of O Carballiño, in the coming days a forestry brigade will work in the surroundings of the Lavandeira park, preparing the natural space of the complex, among other tasks of cleaning the natural heritage of the town, such as the municipal park, to offer the best possible image during Easter. It is expected that by those dates the walk that runs parallel to the canal de los arcos will be finished, where there will be explanatory panels of the paper-making process, as well as the restoration of the entire ethnographic industrial group, which will be unique in Galicia.
