The ruin of Mount Strange at Hango Hill are all that remains of a 17th Century Summerhouse.
Hango Hill was for many years a place of execution and on 2 January 1663 was the site for the execution of Illiam Dhone. Illiam was shot for his role in Manx uprising against the Royalist Derby family who held the Isle of Man for the Crown at the time.

There is a plaque in front of the ruins which reads:
HANGO HILL
ANCIENT PLACE OF EXECUTION
HERE, WILLIAM CHRISTIAN OF
RONALDSWAY ("ILLIAN DHONE"
TO THE MANY MANX PEOPLE, WHO
REGARDED HIM AS THEIR NATIONAL
CHAMPION) WAS SHOT ON 2ND
JANUARY 1663 FOR HIS PART IN
THE MANX RISING OF 1651
AGAINST THE DERBY FAMILY,
WHO HELD THE ISLAND FOR
THE ROYALIST CAUSE.
THE RUINS ARE THOSE OF A LATE
17TH CENTURY SUMMERHOUSE
KNOWN AS "MOUNT STRANGE"
