Het sluizencomplex behoort tot de belangrijkste kunstwerken binnen Waterschap Rijn en IJssel. Hoewel het grootste deel van het complex uiterst modern is bevat het onderdelen van cultuurhistorische waarde.
De oude sluis is vanaf het benedenpand nog te herkennen.

In Doesburg komen de IJssel en de Oude IJssel samen. Daar ligt ook de sluis en stuw van Waterschap Rijn en IJssel met een behoorlijk verval; heel indrukwekkend om te zien. De Oude IJssel is ongeveer 25 km bevaarbaar.
De sluis heeft vaste tijden.
Vanuit de bedieningspost bij sluis Doesburg wordt ook sluis de Pol bij Gaanderen bediend.

The lock complex is one of the most important works of art within the Rhine and IJssel Water Board. Although most of the complex is extremely modern, it contains elements of cultural-historical value.
The old lock can still be recognized from the lower building.

The IJssel and the Oude IJssel come together in Doesburg. This is also where the lock and weir of the Rijn en IJssel Water Board is located, with a considerable decline; very impressive to watch. The Oude IJssel is navigable for approximately 25 km.
The lock has fixed times.
Lock de Pol at Gaanderen is also operated from the control post at the Doesburg lock.
