A l’occasion des 20 ans de la réserve naturelle de l’étang de Biguglia, le Département de la Haute-Corse organise une grande manifestation du 26 novembre au 2 décembre au parc de Fornacina et à l’écomusée du Fortin de l’étang de Biguglia. Entrée libre et gratuite.
La Réserve Naturelle de l´Etang de Biguglia (1790 hectares) est implantée sur quatre communes (Furiani, Biguglia, Borgo et Lucciana) au sud de Bastia.
Dénommé autrefois Chjurlinu, l’étang de Biguglia est le plus vaste étang côtier de Corse, 11 km de long et 2,5 km dans sa plus grande largeur. Cet étang d´origine lagunaire a été formé il y a plus de 6000 ans par le remaniement marin des alluvions du Golo.
Une zone zone humide d’importance internationale
L’étang de Biguglia est classé réserve naturelle depuis 1994. Le site est égalment classé Zone d’Intérêt Communautaire pour les Oiseaux (ZICO), Zone de Protection Spéciale (ZPS) et Zone Spéciale de Conservation (ZSC) du réseau Natura 2000.
ll fait partie des sites français les plus importants pour ses effectifs hivernaux d’oiseaux d’eau, en particulier la Foulque macroule, les Fuligules milouin et morillon.
Ateliers "jeune public", visites libres et guidées, conférences thématiques... jusqu'à dimanche, le Département de la Haute-Corse célèbre les 20 ans de la réserve naturelle de l’étang de Biguglia.
