Pole fall from the stage at Teatro Camões causes two injuries

"An incident in the show "Quebra-Nozes", at Teatro Camões, in Lisbon, caused two light injuries on Thursday night and forced the interruption of the ballet, reported this Friday an official source of the Companhia Nacional de Bailado.

"It was a technical accident with a pole where the stage was hanging. It fell and ended up hitting two people who are part of the show's technical team," said the same source.

The show, which opened on December 6, was interrupted following the incident, recorded by the Regiment of Sapadores Bombeiros at 22:46.

Without specifying the type of injuries of the two victims, the source said that they were transported to a hospital in Lisbon.

"At this moment, the situation is still being evaluated in order to make a decision on the continuity of the show. In principle, everything indicates that the show will continue, but only today [Friday] during the day will this decision be taken", he added .

The ballet "Quebra-Nozes" is at Teatro Camões until the 22nd of December, then continuing in Almada, district of Setúbal.

The official source of the Companhia Nacional de Bailado said that spectators who watched the show on Thursday could change their ticket for another day or ask for a refund."
