The CONFLUENCE point / place where the Afon Llwyd and River Usk. This is quite a dangerous spot, please take care when visiting. The River Usk is tidal at this point & there is alot of deep smelly mud on the river banks.

Afon Llwyd, or translated from Welsh meaning "Grey River".
It is a small river in South Wales which flows from its source in Blaenavon, through Abersychan, Pontypool and Cwmbran before flowing into the Usk river at Caerleon, which subsequently flows into the Bristol Channel in Newport.
I visited Caerleon on Saturday 27th Jan 2007 to find the confluence point. It is not an easy spot to reach, due to private fields and steep muddy river banks.
The photo's and coordinates are taken from the opposite bank on the River Usk on the outskirks of the old Roman fortress town of Caerleon.
