The statue is an original 'Spirit of the American Doughboy' by E.M. Visquesney mounted to the top of a tall marble column. Located in the center of Indiana's Veteran Park. The Sculpture is mounted to a 30' tall stone column. It is the center piece of Memorial Park. This sculpture is a 1920 version of the sheet bronze style. From Link" The plaque inscription on the front of the 30 foot pedestal reads:
INDIANA MEMORIAL
IN HONOR OF THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO SERVED THEIR COUNTRY
DURING THE WORLD WAR 1917 – 1918

SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF THOSE WHO DIED
