The town of Meeker was established in 1903, when the railroad came through the area. Meeker is located in Lincoln County, approximately 45 miles east of Oklahoma City. It is located at the intersection of State Highways 62 and 18. The town has a population of about 1130 people.
The town is governed by a Mayor and Vice Mayor. We were unable to determine information about their council meetings. City Hall is open Mopnday-Friday from 8:00-12:00 and 1:00-5:00. The building at 510 Carl Hubbell Blvd. is a one-story metal building, with a brick veneer wainscot. The building houses City Hall, the fire department and the Carl Hubbell Museum. Carl Hubbell is the town's Favorite Son. Born in 1903, he was a Hall of Fame pitcher for the New York Giants from 1928 to 1943, and still holds records never yet broken.
