This trail head is utilized for two trails so there is plenty of parking available. The Sand Mountain Hiking Trail and the Sand Mountain Multi Use Trail. Both trails start out together but the hiking trail soon splits off and becomes a narrow footpath and follows red blazes. Located at the trail head is a wooden sign board and a information kiosk. The area is part of the Pennsylvania Bald Eagle State Forest and offers some good views.
