Munkarp's church, consecrated in 1884, replaced the town's medieval church, which was demolished in 1883. The ruin of the old church remains in the nearby deserted cemetery. This was released in 1922.
The church has undergone a couple of major renovations. In 1969, the sacristy was decorated and the bench interior was renewed. In 2004-2005, both interior and exterior renovations were carried out and the church got its current interior.
The bond to the medieval church remains, not least through the baptismal font from the 12th century and the beautiful pulpit from the 17th century. The pulpit is made by Jakob Kremberg.
Munkarps church is a small and beautiful church in which we celebrate worship about one Sunday per month.
