spa: Este antiquísimo e belo cenobio, chamado tamén do Couto, foi declarado Monumento Histórico-Artístico Nacional en 1972. Situado na ruta xacobea do Camiño Inglés, e punto desde o que parte o Camiño de Santo André de Teixido, a súa historia e desenvolvemento construtivo están ligados con importantes episodios da historia de Galicia, vivindo etapas de grande esplendor, e chegando no S. XII a ser un dos mosteiros máis importantes de España.
eng: This ancient and beautiful monastery, also called O Couto, was declared a National Historic-Artistic Monument in 1972. Located on the Jacobean route of the English Way, and point from which the Camino de Santo André de Teixido starts, its history and constructive development are linked with important episodes in the history of Galicia, living stages of great splendor, and becoming in the twelfth century to be one of the most important monasteries in Spain.
