"The Saint Michel church is in the heart of the city, near the large chain bridge, on the left bank of the Touques, where in the 12th century stood a chapel dedicated to Saint-Michel for the monks of Saint-Hymer .

Flamboyant Gothic in terms of its nave and choir, the northern part of the Church of St Michel dates from the 15th century while its southern facade, modified in the 19th century, remains in the Gothic spirit but with more ornate ornamentation.

Its western tower, relatively massive, must probably date from the 13th century.

The church is made up of a raised nave with eight bays and provided with aisles. It does not have a transept. The cylindrical pillars which do not have capitals receive the ribs of the large arches. The side walls are lined with a narrow gallery. The massive tower is at the western end."
