This handsome memorial with a doughboy on top is located in the Winterset, Iowa Cemetery - 502 N 4th Street.

This memorial consists of a bronze World War I soldier at "Parade Rest" atop a marble pedestal. Surrounding the monument are several WWI veteran's headstones. There is an unlighted flagpole and another dedication marker from the Cemetery.
The text reads:
Dedicated by the people of Madison County, Iowa, as a grateful tribute to the memory of its soldiers and sailors.

Text of Cemetery red granite marker:
This plot of ground was donated by the Cemetery Association to the War Memorial Association as a place to perpetuate the memory of Madison County soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the war against Germany and Her Allies.
