These larger than Life glasses stand at the intersection of Gull Avenue and 315 Street in Cerro Gordo County, Iowa. They are located about 6-miles north of the Clear Lake, Iowa. These glasses are a likeness of the ones worn by Rock and Roll Legend Buddy Holly who played his last Concert at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake Iowa. After the concert Holly, and fellow performers Richie Valens and J. P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson board a small plane in Mason City Iowa. Shortly after departure the plane crash in a corn field near this location. These large glasses stand at the entrance to the 1/4 mile path that leads visitors to the actual crash site memorial.
