"It is one of the largest buildings in the Mindonian urban area, founded in the middle of the s. XVI, being the 3rd seminary that was founded in Spain and the 1st in Galicia by the regulations established by the Tridentine Council through which it was decreed to establish a college in each head of the bishopric. The current building is the work of the master Estévez between the years 1770-75, ordered to be built by Bishop Losada Quiroga. The 3rd floor is from the s. XIX and the Church dates from 1954. A rectangular building made of dark slate covered with gabled slate, with 3 floors. Main façade with two small towers at its ends, a small pediment with the image of Sta. Catalina in the center, two episcopal coats of arms and a Church on the left side. It has two cloisters with windows around which the rooms are distributed, and inside it houses an old library that contains more than 20,000 vols., Highlighting several incunabula written before the s. XVI, open only to researchers. Numerous writers were trained in this Seminar and years ago it underwent several renovations to house an important lodging facility."
