This bronze plaque has a small relief of Mr. Greene, and the text reads:

Richard Greene
Mayor - 1987-97

-----

Richard Greene served as Arlington mayor from 1987-1997. Greene developed a winning plan to build a new Texas Rangers ballpark and keep the team in Arlington. Voters overwhelmingly approved the building of The Ballpark in Arlington in the largest-ever voter turnout in a local election. During his time as mayor, the Texas Rangers won the team's first-ever division championship, hosted the 1995 All-Star Game and brought national recognition and new economic benefits to the city. He was inducted in the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame in 2019.
