"Volano è situato alla foce dell'omonimo Po, in un'area in cui sin dal XVI secolo era presente un insediamento che gravava attorno alla torre di guardia costiera, al porto, al posto di guardia doganale e ad un oratorio dedicato a San Francesco da Paola, sovente invaso dalle acque. Attorno alla metà del XVII secolo l'oratorio fu demolito e venne costruita più lontano dal mare una nuova chiesa dedicata alla Madonna del Carmine. Il territorio di Volano venne eretto in curazia da Mons. Paolo Babini, vescovo di Comacchio, il 16 luglio 1943 smembrandolo dalle parrocchie di Santa Maria Assunta in Pomposa, di San Giacomo Apostolo in Vaccolino e di San Giuseppe in Bosco Eliceo (San Giuseppe di Comacchio). Dieci anni dopo, il 17 giugno 1953, Volano è costituita parrocchia dal vescovo mons. Natale Mosconi. Nel contempo si sviluppano i primi agglomerati turistici, per cui si impone il problema di una nuova chiesa che sostituisca quella settecentesca esistente, mal ridotta a causa dei continui allagamenti. Viene così costruita l'attuale chiesa parrocchiale su progetto dell'ing. Vittorio Mastellari di Ferrara, benedetta dall'arcivescovo mons. Mosconi l'1 dicembre 1973. Essa sorge su un'ampia area bonificata, poco più ad ovest della vecchia chiesa, sulla strada provinciale che unisce il centro del paese al mare. Il paese, che sa tutto di valle e di mare, si presenta ringiovanito da una superba pineta, ove fa capolino una caratteristica cappelletta, costruita dall'arcivescovo mons. Natale Mosconi e dedicata a S. Giovanni Gualberto, patrono dei forestali." (

Volano is located at the mouth of the homonymous Po, in an area where since the sixteenth century there was a settlement that weighed around the coast guard tower, the port, the customs guard post and an oratory dedicated to San Francesco da Paola, often invaded by the waters. Around the middle of the 17th century the oratory was demolished and a new church dedicated to the Madonna del Carmine was built farther from the sea. The territory of Volano was erected in curacy by Mons.Paolo Babini, bishop of Comacchio, on July 16, 1943, dismembering it from the parishes of Santa Maria Assunta in Pomposa, San Giacomo Apostolo in Vaccolino and San Giuseppe in Bosco Eliceo (San Giuseppe di Comacchio ). Ten years later, on June 17, 1953, Volano was established as a parish by the bishop Msgr. Christmas Mosconi. At the same time the first tourist agglomerations developed, so the problem arose of a new church to replace the existing eighteenth-century one, badly reduced due to continuous flooding. The current parish church was thus built on a project by Eng. Vittorio Mastellari of Ferrara, blessed by the archbishop Msgr. Mosconi on 1 December 1973. It stands on a large reclaimed area, just west of the old church, on the provincial road that connects the town center to the sea. The town, which knows everything about the valley and the sea, is rejuvenated by a superb pine forest, where a characteristic chapel peeps out, built by the archbishop Msgr. Natale Mosconi is dedicated to S. Giovanni Gualberto, patron saint of foresters.

Volano liegt an der Mündung des gleichnamigen Po, in einem Gebiet, in dem seit dem 16. durch die Gewässer. Um die Mitte des 17. Jahrhunderts wurde das Oratorium abgerissen und eine neue, der Madonna del Carmine geweihte Kirche weiter vom Meer entfernt gebaut. Das Gebiet von Volano wurde am 16. Juli 1943 von Mons.Paolo Babini, Bischof von Comacchio, kuratiert, indem er es aus den Pfarreien Santa Maria Assunta in Pomposa, San Giacomo Apostolo in Vaccolino und San Giuseppe in Bosco Eliceo (San Giuseppe di Comacchio). Die Stadt, die alles über das Tal und das Meer weiß, wird durch einen herrlichen Pinienwald verjüngt, aus dem eine charakteristische Kapelle hervorragt, die vom Erzbischof Msgr. Natale Mosconi ist dem Schutzpatron der Förster S. Giovanni Gualberto geweiht.
