Pocasset is a town with a population of approximately 158. Pocasset was a siding on the CRI&P railroad line. In 1901, a townsite was built and by 1918, there was a population of 350.

In Oklahoma, an outdoor warning device such as this alerts not only to fire, but also to the inevitable tornadoes that threaten this part of the country. This siren is mounted on a tall wooden pole. It has one large rotating horn with a 360 degree pattern.
