In het midden van het dorp Escharen staat een mooie boom. Deze is in 1898 geplant ten tijde van de troonsbestijging van koningin Wilhelmina. Het is een gewone of Hollandse linde. Op initiatief van de heemkundevereniging Esters Heem is door de gemeente Grave bij de boom een plaquette geplaatst. De boom heeft een beschermde status.

Volgens het bord heeft de boom een hele tijd in het centrum van een kruispunt gestaan. In 1940 heeft rondom de boom een grote brand gewoed, die de boom gelukkig heeft overleeft. Daarna is een mooi dorpsplein gecreëerd met deze boom als één van de blikvangers.

In the middle of the village of Escharen is a beautiful tree. It was planted in 1898 at the time of Queen Wilhelmina's accession to the throne. It is an ordinary or Dutch linden. At the initiative of the local heritage association Esters Heem, the municipality of Grave has placed a plaque near the tree. The tree has a protected status.

According to the sign, the tree has been in the center of an intersection for a long time. In 1940 a large fire raged around the tree, which fortunately the tree survived. Afterwards, a beautiful village square was created with this tree as one of the eye-catchers.
