The Baxter Veterans Memorial is located in front of the Baxter City Hall. The small granite marker is surrounded by flowers and has 2 flag poles (USA flag and city flag) in the rear.
Baxter, formerly known as Mine Lick, was incorporated in 1915. It's name was changed in 1902 in honor of Jere Baxter, the builder of the Tennessee Central Railroad.
