Starting in 1907, Nydqvist & Holm AB (NOHAB) produced a total of 130 E-series locomotives for the Swedish State Railways (Statens Järnvagar) until 1920. With the tender, these had a total length of 16.65 m and a weight of 50 t, the maximum speed was 65 km / h. The locomotives were used for passenger and freight traffic in Norrland by the state railways until the beginning of the 1990s.
The locomotive E SJ 952 shown here was delivered in 1908 under the manufacturer number 898. In 1954, 1957 and 1960 the locomotive was modernized and then sold to Inlandsbanan AB (IBAB) in 1992. The locomotive was then installed 20 years later near the railway station in Hoting in Jämtlands Län.
