History
The Museum of Fine Arts of A Coruña was founded without a permanent headquarters in 1922. Between 1947 and 1995 his it soothes was the House of the Consulate, yielded on the initiative of the painter Fernando Alvarez de Sotomayor
The current building, designed by architect Manuel Gallego Jorreto, was inaugurated in 1995.
Description
It presents numerous works from the Museo del Prado, Spanish and European painting from the 16th to the 20th centuries, and Galician painting from the 19th and 20th centuries. It also exhibits a wide collection of Goya engravings and ceramic pieces from Sargadelos.
