Das Haus der Natur am Pfaffenbach liegt an einem schönen Wanderweg zwischen Asbach und Windhagen. Das Gebäude wurde 1956 als Pumpenhaus gebaut und hat bis 1971 die umliegenden Dörfer mit Frischwasser versorgt. 1997 hat der Arbeitskreis für Natur- und Umweltschutz Asbacher Land e.V. (ANUAL) das leerstehende Gebäude gekauft und zu einem Informationszentrum umgebaut.

Der Verein bietet hier Besuchern Informationen und Anregungen zu Naturschutzthemen. Dazu werden Plakatausstellungen, Vorträge und Exkursionen angeboten und organisiert. Im Außenbereich sind ein Kräutergarten, Nistkästen für Vögel und Fledermäuse, Informationstafeln, Bänke und Picknicktische installiert.

Das Haus ist an verschiedenen Sonntagen im Jahr für interessierte Besucher geöffnet. Zusätzlich können Gruppen, Schulklassen und Kindergärten einen Termin vereinbaren. Der Außenbereich ist aber immer geöffnet. Aktuell gibt es am Haus Bauarbeiten, da es um einen Anbau erweitert wird.

The "Haus der Natur am Pfaffenbach" (i.e. House of Nature at the creek Pfaffenbach) is located on a beautiful hiking trail between Asbach and Windhagen. The building was built in 1956 as a pump house and supplied the surrounding villages with fresh water until 1971. In 1997 the non-profit association Arbeitskreis für Natur- und Umweltschutz Asbacher Land e.V. (ANUAL) bought the vacant building and converted it into a nature center.

The association offers visitors information and suggestions on nature conservation issues. For that, poster exhibitions, lectures and excursions are offered and organized. Outside there is a herb garden, nesting boxes for birds and bats, information boards, benches and picnic tables.

The house is open to interested visitors on various Sundays throughout the year. In addition, groups, school classes and kindergartens can make an appointment. The outdoor area is always open. The house is currently under construction as an extension is being added.
