At about a quarter past ten in the morning this Wednesday, rubble fell off the wall of the San Carlos garden, on the Paseo de O Parrote . The stones were detached from the area where the viewpoint and the city's coat of arms are located. A Local Police patrol traveled to the place. The agents created a security perimeter that forced a section of sidewalk to be cut. A unit of the A Grela park firefighters also made an appearance. His intention was to clean up the part of the damaged wall. However, the police officers received the order not to carry out any intervention since this building belongs to Patrimonio. A technician will be sent from this department to decide the measures to be taken . RESTORATION PROJECTThe San Carlos garden restoration project came to a standstill on October 9, when the Xunta informed the City Council that it was suspending the permit it had granted 15 months earlier to carry out the works pending resolution of some allegations that were presented due to an administrative error . Days later, the Xunta gave the green light to the works once the Senlleiras Tree Committee assured that the action did not entail risks for the 20 specimens of Ulmus x hollanica Mill , which make up the only protected elmeda in Galicia, thus knocking down with its opinion the allegations presented by three specialists who pointed out damage to the roots and requested the suspension of the work.
